- Keynote presentation: Review of UNEP's Draft Work Programme 2006-2007 from a Civil Society Perspective, at the request of UNEP's Major Groups and Stakeholders Branch at its Regional Civil Society Forum for Europe, Geneva, 30 November as well as the Forum for Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok, 20 November.

- Participation in a meeting about the impact of the aviation sector on climate change at the request of the Oak Foundation, Geneva, 26 November.

- Participation in the IUCN World Conservation Congress on behalf of Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition, Bangkok 21-25 November.

- Participation in the IUCN World Conservation Forum at the request of the Director General of the IUCN, Bangkok 17-20 November. Opinion piece about the 3rd World Conservation Congress published on One World.

October 2004

- Facilitation of a strategic planning meeting in Bangkok for the Food Team of Consumers International.

- Representation of Greenpeace International in the Informal Working Group of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the UN International Maritime Organisation to review the criteria for the designation of Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas.

- Press Conference publicly launching the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition. Press coverage by the BBC, Reuters, and other major outlets.

- Review from a Civil Society perspective of the Draft Work Programme 2006-2007 for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in preparation for its Regional Civil Society Meetings towards the 6th Global Civil Society Forum.

September 2004:

- (Ongoing) Coordination of NGO Coaliton working to achieve a UN General Assembly moratorium on bottom trawling on the high seas.

-Organising a Joint Planning Retreat for the United Nations-Habitat Water for Cities Programmes and Green Cross International.

- Media Co-ordination at the Montserrat Assembly (5-7 July) and the Parliament of the World's Religions (7-13 July)

- Preparation and facilitation of strategy and communications meeting for the NGO coalition campaigning for a moratorium on bottom trawling on the high seas. Ongoing coordination activities.

- Advice to Green Cross International on its campaign for the adoption of a global convention on the right to water.

June 2004:

- Coordination and support for the NGO coalition campaigning for a moratorium on bottom trawling on the high seas, at the United Nations Open-Ended Informal Consultative Process on Oceans and the Law of the Sea (UNICPOLOS), NY 7-11 June.

May 2004:

- Preparation of a draft campaign plan to promote a UN moratorium on bottom trawling on the high seas.

- Concept and execution of an Oceana sponsored page and ad in the 24 May worldwide edition of the International Herald Tribune, with a 4-page wrap around for a special Brussels edition. On the same day, representing Oceana in Brussels at a meeting of European Fisheries Ministers to promote measures to protect marine biodiversity from bottom trawling.

- Logistical and Media Support for the Parliament of the World's Religions to be held in Barcelona in July, 2004

- Review of US group Global Green's Environmental Leadership Awards, and recommendations for further development.

- Article on the need to control the advertisement industry as a driver of unsustainable consumption patterns, in Swiss publication La Revue Durable, Issue 10, May.

April 2004:

- Representation of Green Cross International at the 12th meeting of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development.

- Article on the evolution of environmental performance in the corporate sector, in the premier edition of "The Optimist" Spring 2004.

- Attendance at a meeting convened by the Pew Charitable Trusts on international marine conservation issues, Madrid 22-23 April.

- Representing Oceana at the OECD Workshop on IUU Fishing 19-20 April, Paris. Varda Group / Oceana background paper published by the OECD.

March 2004:

- Communications strategy and political analysis for Green Cross International's campaign on the right to access to water.

- Representing Greenpeace at the International Maritime Organisation's Marine Environment Protection Committee (IMO-MEPC) meeting, London.

- Conducting the recruitment process for a European Political Advisor for Oceana. In addition, preparation of a briefing paper for the OECD workshop on illegal fishing, based on the more detailed report written in November.

- Strategic advice and political support to the Environment Investigation Agency in preparation for the Extraordinary Meeting of the Parties
to the UN Montreal Protocol on the Protection of the Ozone Layer
