Inés de Agueda
Inés has been a Varda Group associate since January 2013.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in environmental sciences with the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain and an MSc in environmental policy by Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Her work for Varda clients relates to ocean and climate change policy and sustainable artisanal fishing. She advises on communications and policy strategy and also manages special events.
Inés supported the work of the Global Ocean Commission during its three years of operation and has coordinated the Because the Ocean initiative on ocean and climate change since Paris COP21 and until 2018 when she took a leave. She has rejoined our team recently to support Varda partners and clients during COP25 in Madrid.
Previously, she had worked in New York with the non-profit group Islands First and the Permanent Mission of Nauru to the United Nations, with a focus on climate change negotiations and preparations for Rio+20.
She is fluent in Spanish, French and English.
